About the Role

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a Sr. Fixed Equipment Reliability Engineer for our client. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum mechanical asset availability, driving performance improvements, and reducing production risks. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader in reliability engineering, capital forecasting, and maintenance strategy execution.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering & Equipment Optimization

Ensure 100% availability of mechanical assets to meet production goals
Lead failure analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance strategies for rotating & stationary equipment
Implement proactive reliability solutions, including predictive maintenance & condition monitoring
Design & execute equipment upgrades, replacements, and overhauls to improve reliability

Performance & Process Improvement

Drive zero unplanned downtime by implementing reliability best practices
Utilize Six Sigma tools to improve maintenance, reliability, and production performance
Document and analyze equipment failure history and OEE data using SAP
Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and repair vs. replacement evaluations

Leadership & Technical Support

Lead a zero-incident safety culture, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations
Provide technical expertise on reliability best practices and cost-saving initiatives
Support maintenance technician training & development
Work with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and optimize asset care plans

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Skills

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
Strong problem-solving, leadership, and time management skills
Experience with Fathom, Compress, Aspen, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance

Experience & Certifications

10+ years of experience in mechanical reliability within chemical, plastics, or refining industries
Expertise in rotating & fixed equipment troubleshooting and specification
Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) license, CMRP, Vibration Analysis Level 1, API Certifications
