Job Description Job Summary Responsible for building a team that will serve as subject matter experts to support the philanthropy administration needs of the University of Maryland Medical System and its member organizations. Maximize the use of advancement systems, reporting tools and data products, as well as oversee gift recording, biographical data, database, and finance reconciliation. Provide operational support to member organizations using a proactive/collaborative approach, technical expertise, automated tools, and web-based applications. Develop comprehensive executive analytical reports, applications training programs and provide support and integration services between systems. Work is performed under general direction. Direct report to the Vice President, Shared Philanthropy Services. Primary Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed. Create, build, and manage data administration systems to support fundraising initiatives for UMMS and its members organizations. Develop system processes to support a shared services advancement administration model. Provide analytical, reporting, training, and troubleshooting support for Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, Luminate and PaperSave software to the broad UMMS community. Prepare detailed analytical fundraising reports and analysis. Proactively identify opportunities to better utilize the Raiser's Edge NXT system to meet the strategic business needs of UMMS. Research, compile, extract and analyze information from various source systems and documents to manage and maintain data. Maintain data integrity for donors, alumni and constituents within Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT system. Ensure the division is taking full advantage of the capabilities of the Luminate and TeamRaiser Software. Develop a robust end-use training program for Raiser's Edge/Omatic/PaperSave. Collaborate with the SOM development team to strengthen data integration, reporting, and training opportunities within systems. Analyze need, test, and develop end-user reports and reporting systems utilizing Raiser's Edge NXT and other reporting systems. Proactively identify new electronic data resources. Participate on the team that plans for and implements hardware/software upgrades, ensuring that system maintenance and backups are current. Use various project management tools to plan for, track and report on project success and impediments. Work on special projects and other tasks related to data management. Monitor the accurate and efficient use of Raisers Edge updating functions. Work to develop a series of audit queries to ensure data integrity. Write and maintain operational procedure manuals. Develop and execute training for staff at all levels. Troubleshoot software and hardware issues. Support software applications, printers, and scanners following UMMS guidelines. Establish and maintain systems to track help desk calls, systems issues, reporting requests and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education & Experience - Required Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Ten plus years' experience working in a fundraising organization including ten years in a managerial capacity overseeing advancement administration. Five plus years' experience in advancement services, data analysis, and documentation. Five plus years' experience with development specific applications. Track record of success managing relationships with a diverse set of users, spanning multiple organizations. Education & Experience - Preferred Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Working knowledge of applications programming development (e.g., Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT systems, research management tools and/or comparable systems, complexity of data, functions and service for constituent data and relationships, etc.). Proven ability to build and develop successful data and IT operations and support services within complex organizations. Ability to leverage both legacy and leading-edge technologies required to support donor research programs and services. Ability to develop and execute plans to test and respond to data and system changes, upgrades and conversions, including disaster recovery. Advanced knowledge of Raiser's Edge NXT. Proven ability to apply technology to solve challenges. Advanced knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and research. Proven ability to synthesize complex data sets into clear, actionable insights. Advanced leadership skills, including situational awareness, conflict resolution, establishing alignment and clear direction, and driving continuous improvement. Proven ability to lead teams effectively, prioritizing requests, workload and establishing a goal-oriented work environment with clear and concise work procedures and productivity metrics. Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully motivate and inspire team members to high performance levels. Expert skill to establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of executives and staff across the organization.
