Job Description Summary

At Enterprise, were transforming affordable housing development practices so that homes are climate resilient and leading the transition to a low-carbon economy. The Senior Director, Multifamily TA will be a core leader of Power Forward Communities market-building platform designed to build the capacity of owners and operators of multifamily affordable rental housing properties to prioritize beneficial decarbonization as they build, retrofit, and operate their properties. This position will develop, launch, and manage the technical components of this program. Ultimately, this is a tremendous opportunity to shape equitable affordable housing decarbonization. c

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, creative, and effective leader eager to support their colleagues, Power Forward Communities coalition members, and external partners in preparing for a changing climate. They will build and cultivate a team to deliver this work, collaborate frequently, and keep a keen eye on the big picture goal while iterating with effective delivery strategies. The position requires building science and decarbonization subject matter expertise, program design and implementation skills, relationship building, staff & consultant management, success with federal compliance, and development and delivery of an equitable and impactful predevelopment grant program and technical assistance and training platform for affordable housers.

The Senior Director will report to the Vice President, Building Resilient Futures.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Director will:

  • Develop and launch the technical and quality assurance arms of a new flagship multifamily market building program for Power Forward Communities. This includes developing technical standards, protocols, and a quality assurance plan as well as managing direct technical assistance.
  • Provide strategic oversight for developing and launching a predevelopment grant program for the new flagship multifamily market building program for Power Forward Communities in close collaboration with our capital team, market building program partners, property owner/operators, and impacted community members.
  • Provide strategic oversight of developing a software tool for assisting housing owners with PFC compliance and reporting. Includes designing and implementing a federally compliant procurement process.
  • Provide strategic oversight of tracking, analyzing, and reporting technical progress and outcomes including relating to energy justice. Includes oversight of designing and managing protocols to ensure the TA program improves energy justice, delivers successfully upon PFC reporting metrics, and provides stability in program design but also iterates upon learnings to ensure greater success.
  • Oversee, coordinate and direct operational activities with staff and internal partners in finance and operations management team (e.g., grants and contracts management and procurement).
  • Lead and supervise staff to cultivate talent, foster teamwork, and maximize impact.
  • Actively participate in other team initiatives, helping to achieve an impactful, fun, cross-functional approach to Building Resilient Futures.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will bring a range of experience and attributes to Enterprise:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred or combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and social justice.
  • Minimum of twelve years of experience in relevant quality control program design and implementation for green building, building science, decarbonization, home performance, and/or energy efficiency
  • Experience and successful track record with multifamily affordable housing capacity building and/or technical assistance
  • Familiarity with affordable housing finance and/or community development.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage staff members through effective planning and organizing, decision making, motivating, supervising, and evaluating.
  • Strong skills in fostering teamwork to develop staff, leverage talent, and partner with colleagues to meet our mission.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing budgets and the efficient use of financial resources. Experience with federal contracts strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate complex activities, prioritize conflicting demands, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, diplomacy, composure, flexibility and ability to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to clearly express ideas, thoughts, and concepts verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to travel (10%)

The base salary for this role is $150,000 to $160,000, depending on level of skills and experience.


The salary range for this position is represented by the low and high end of the range for the amount to be paid for the position. Salaries paid at Enterprise will vary based on factors that may include skills, education, location, experience, and performance. The salary range is just a part of the total rewards package provided to employees at Enterprise, and other rewards may include annual performance bonuses and generous paid leave programs.
