Job Summary:

Founded in 1938, the SPCA of Texas is the most comprehensive and longest-serving animal welfare agency in Texas. Our vision is for every donor to fall in love with the SPCA in the same way they fall in love with their pets. To help bring our vision to life, the SPCA of Texas (SPCA) is seeking an Senior Development Officer, Operations and Donor Growth (Sr. Officer).

The Sr. Officer will shape the SPCA's donor marketing and communication strategy, leveraging data and technology to grow the SPCA's donor base, with a focus on growing the number and value of donor relationships under the $10,000 giving level. Additionally, the position will support the development and growth of the SPCA's planned giving program through direct and digital marketing. The Sr. Officer will also oversee the donor communication and development operations department, ensuring that the SPCA's technology and CRM strategy supports the organization's short- and long-term objectives.

The position reports to the Vice President of Development and manages the development operations team. The position will also work closely with the VP of Marketing and the 8-person marketing team on project deliverables. This is a senior-level position with significant expectations related to strategy, leadership, quality of work, team and project management, and the ability to generate revenue. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity in all communications, is exceptionally motivated, empathetic and passionate about their craft with a desire to collaborate and propel meaningful donor engagement.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for digital and direct mail fundraising revenue and expense lines, closely managing ROI

• Defining key program performance metrics for data-driven decision making, working with the analytics team member to build and implement dashboards and evaluative tools for managing program outcomes

• Responsible for managing marketing and fundraising agency contracts and project deliverables, collaborating with the SPCA marketing team on execution

• Responsible for overall strategy for the growth of the SPCA's annual giving program ($1 - $1,499)

• Responsible for collaboratively overseeing the direct and digital marketing for segments of the SPCA's leadership annual giving program ($1,500 - $9,999), the planned giving program, and events programs

• Managing the work and productivity of the development operations teams, including related technology contracts

• Staying abreast of industry trends, technology, and best practices

• Strategic thinking: Demonstrated experience crafting and delivering data-driven donor or consumer marketing strategies and overarching journey development

• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.

• Educational background: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Proven experience: 5+ years in growth or marketing roles with demonstrated success in creating demand, generating leads, achieving revenue targets, and driving growth in a marketing agency, startup, nonprofit or similar environment. Extremely knowledgeable of emerging technologies impacting consumers and driving behavior

Working Conditions

• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
