Job Title: Sr. Design Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Sr. Design Engineer who is not only highly skilled in engineering design but also enthusiastic about getting hands-on with the product development process. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a practical approach, actively engaging in both design and the physical aspects of product development. You'll work on creating innovative, manufacturable products while ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability criteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop product components using Inventor or familiar with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, etc.), ensuring they meet functional, cost, and manufacturing requirements.
- Work directly with manufacturing teams to create prototypes, conduct hands-on testing, and iterate on designs based on real-world feedback.
- Perform engineering analyses (FEA, CFD, etc.) to validate design concepts, ensuring performance and durability.
- Participate in product testing and troubleshooting, rolling up your sleeves to solve problems directly in the lab or production environment.
- Create technical documentation, including detailed drawings, specifications, and BOMs, and ensure designs are production-ready.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration, ensuring that designs are aligned with customer needs and production capabilities.
- Lead or assist in hands-on product assembly, testing, and validation, ensuring designs work as expected in real-world conditions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
- 3 plus years of experience in design engineering, with a proven track record of hands-on product development.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, or PTC Creo).
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, assembly, and testing, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems in real-world settings.
- Familiarity with engineering principles like GD&T, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical solutions to engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with both engineers and non-technical teams.
