FWI is building a team to establish and maintain a comprehensive data management framework that enables OHSS to collect, store, process, and analyze data seamlessly while ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and security through optimized workflows and governance practices. As a Senior Database Developer, you will lead the design and implementation of robust data management solutions that automate data collection pipelines, establish data governance protocols, and create efficient systems for processing and analyzing homeland security statistical data in support of OHSS's expanded mission scope. Position is contingent upon successful contract award Work Schedule and Location: On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday,8:30am to 5pm in Washington, DC with a potential hybrid situation. Responsibilities Establish a comprehensive data management framework aligned with organizational goals Conduct detailed assessments of current data systems and workflows Design and implement data validation rules and automated cleansing processes Develop access control policies based on user roles and permissions Establish data backup and disaster recovery protocols Implement automated data collection pipelines from various sources Develop automated workflows for data processing, transformation, and validation Integrate automated reporting tools for real-time or scheduled reports Create and maintain a centralized data dictionary with standardized naming conventions Ensure data is easily accessible to authorized stakeholders through user-friendly interfaces Manage and oversee all contractor work performed under the contract Serve as Contract Manager and single point of contact for the Contracting Officer and COR Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required 15 years or more of federal onsite experience supporting and understanding agency policies and workflows Demonstrated expertise with database management systems, including SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL Extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining relational databases, data warehouses, and ETL processes Proficiency in Data Analysis, Data Modeling, and Data Integration, including familiarity with tools like ERwin or similar data modeling software Experience with Data Governance frameworks and practices to ensure data quality and compliance Desired: Master's degree Experience developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Strong knowledge of federal security standards (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP) as applicable to database design and implementation FWI is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
