Senior Database Analyst contractor to manage and optimize databases across Vitalant, its affiliates, and business units. In this role, you'll ensure database security, integrity, and 24/7 availability while integrating databases with application systems. You'll collaborate across teams to enhance information systems, drive efficiencies by working with vendors, and provide technical leadership. This role is a full-time (40 hours/ week) temporary role with an anticipated project timeframe of 3 to 6 months. As a
Sr. Database Administrator, you'll get to:
- Manage and maintain databases to ensure security, integrity, and 24/7 availability.
- Integrate databases with application systems and support information systems enablement.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver quality application services.
- Work with vendors to resolve database-related issues and drive efficiencies.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to teams and customers.
- Develop and implement best practices for database administration and security.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
RequirementsKnowledge/ Education - Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or computer information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Knowledge in database design, installation, configuration, monitoring, tuning & security of Oracle and MS SQL databases required.
- Knowledge in database tools and utilities on both Windows and Linux platforms required.
- Knowledge of storage components and disaster recovery processes required.
Licenses/ Certifications Professional Certification in one or more of the following preferred:
- Oracle Database
- Microsoft SQL Server
Experience
6 years of related experience required. To include:
- 3 years of experience deploying, operating, and monitoring infrastructure in the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google)
- Proven work Experience as a database administrator or similar role
- Backup and recovery of relational databases with RMAN
- Practical experience with disaster recovery scenarios
- Experience installing and using Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, and Redgate
• Linux shell, Python, and Powershell scripting - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure Healthcare experience preferred. SR.
Skills/ Abilities - Possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
- Proficiency in database software/web applications.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

- Mastery of core cloud principles, including service models, deployment architectures, and data migration, backup, recovery, and security in the cloud.
