About the Role:
Our Medical Device client is looking for a strong Senior Cost Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This position requires strong experience within a Standard Costing environment. Their ideal candidate will come from a Standard Cost environment and have a Public Accounting upbringing.
This position is currently on a hybrid schedule but will be going fully-remote starting in July of this year.

Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, which includes review or preparation of journal entries, review of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement
- Analyzing and collecting data to determine costs of commercial inventory, such as raw materials, direct costs, and overhead.
- Updating standard costs on an annual basis utilizing Bills of Materials and the ERP system.
- Perform cost accounting activities including developing and analyzing standard costs, excess & obsolete reserves, scrap analysis, inventory variance reviews and analysis and reporting of inventory and COGS.
- Automating reporting and analysis using advanced Excel and Access tools, such as pivot tables and queries.
- Cost modeling and product pricing studies and new item setups.
- Oversee inventory valuation using FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average cost methods.
- Preparing spending and variance analyses.
- Responsible for internal controls, financial control documentation and testing, and supporting audits.
- Ensuring that items are correctly classified, and statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Drive process improvements in the accounting and reporting of inventory, COGS and in-licensing collaborations.
- Assisting in the analytical and/or strategic function, including the development of budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- Ability to manage and allocate resources, set priorities, and coordinate with various departments and third-party vendors.
- Conceiving ideas for problem resolution (e.g., supporting cost improvement teams).
- Providing management with key performance indicators for decision-making purposes.
- Assisting manufacturing with periodic physical inventory counts and monitoring cycle counting, as well as investigating variances and resolving issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar degree
- Experience in the Manufacturing industry is required
- Standard Costing experience required
- CPA License is preferred
- Public Accounting experience is preferred
