Title: Sr. Continuous Improvement Engineer

Position Summary:

The Sr. Continuous Improvement Engineer will lead organizational effectiveness initiatives spanning all manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure efficient utilization of resources.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Utilizing lean manufacturing and/or six sigma to lead the implementation of lean concepts to groups to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Organize a project plan for manufacturing floor to gain efficiency of movement of product flow
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to transfer and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
  • Develop and recommend methods for improving accuracy, efficiency and speed of business processes and provide lean and problem-solving training to personnel.
  • Develop and implement project plans to attain business goals.
  • Communicate with management to develop production, material, and overall process standards
  • Facilitate the communication to stakeholders on schedules, meetings, progress and pending issues, on a regular basis.
  • Serve as Project Manager for designated continuous improvement projects as assigned by management and report on workloads, issues, and pending problems.
  • Anticipate schedule delays including those stemming from risks, multi-project resources and integration conflicts and initiate corrective action plans.
  • Facilitate the resolution of conflicts encountered during the management of continuous improvement projects
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required

Basic Requirements:
  • A Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and 5 years of process improvement engineering experience or 9 years of process improvement engineering experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of process improvement methodologies, lean principles and techniques, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints
  • Excellent knowledge of business and manufacturing processes, material flow and management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability when issues are very complex
  • Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, planning and follow-up skills
  • Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite, MS Visio, & MS Project

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or IPMA (Level C) certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or other Lean certification
