Position Description Join a team responsible for performing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment.
Primary Responsibilities: - Work independently and as part of a team to manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic, measurable change process.
- Deliver and maintain the engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) and apply CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan.
- Support configuration management and quality audits.
- Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, following company policies and procedures.
- Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization as per standard procedures.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with functional personnel in Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
Skills Required: - Experience using a database.
- Good computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports, and documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organizational skills.
- Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and documentation, including military standards (MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000), industry CM standard (EIA-649), and/or drawing standards (ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.10).
Skills Preferred: - Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
- Advanced user knowledge of MS Excel, including complex formulas.
- Familiarity with CMMI requirements.
- Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
- Experience using Windchill to manage product data.
Experience Required: - Typically, a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Defense industry experience.
