Position Description

Join a team responsible for performing Configuration Management (CM) activities related to the design, development, and production of complex systems in a defense environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work independently and as part of a team to manage changes to approved configurations using a systematic, measurable change process.
  • Deliver and maintain the engineering Technical Data Package (TDP) and apply CM processes in accordance with the CM Plan.
  • Support configuration management and quality audits.
  • Develop solutions to problems of moderate scope and complexity, following company policies and procedures.
  • Explain solutions, practices, and procedures to others in the organization as per standard procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with functional personnel in Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, and Manufacturing.
Skills Required:
  • Experience using a database.
  • Good computer skills with MS Office suite to prepare appropriate metrics, reports, and documents.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong attention to detail, coupled with good time management and organizational skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills for interfacing and coordinating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
  • General knowledge of relevant configuration management and design engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and documentation, including military standards (MIL-HDBK-61A, MIL-STD-31000), industry CM standard (EIA-649), and/or drawing standards (ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.10).
Skills Preferred:
  • Formal training in Configuration Data Management (CDM).
  • Advanced user knowledge of MS Excel, including complex formulas.
  • Familiarity with CMMI requirements.
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.
  • Experience using Windchill to manage product data.
Experience Required:
  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 4+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Defense industry experience.
