Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Communicate fluently with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Develop readable, reliable, and maintainable COBOL programs in an IBM mainframe environment.
- Perform code testing, debugging, and review test results with business representatives.
- Provide prompt support for production issues, including participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation.
- Work occasional nights and weekends to meet project deadlines and ensure system reliability.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of application development experience with a focus on IBM mainframe programming.
- Advanced proficiency in COBOL, CICS, and JCL.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with VSAM and SAS.
- Familiarity with Z/OS Connect, Web Services, and SOA.
- Knowledge of job scheduling tools such as ZEKE and ZENA.
- General insurance industry experience is a plus.
