Schedule:

Sunday to Thursday

11:00pm to 7:30am

Requires training on 1st shift.

Position Summary:

Responsible for developing measurement programs for CMMs, improving existing programs, creating fixturing solutions, and training team members. Also includes conducting measurement analyses and optimizing measurement times to enhance efficiency. Provides ongoing support to laboratory technicians and the engineering team whenever needed.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and improve CMM programs for both new and existing machined parts.
  • Design and implement fixturing solutions to support accurate and efficient measurements.
  • Conduct measurement analyses and optimize routines to reduce inspection time.
  • Train team members on CMM operation, measurement techniques, and the use of fixturing.
  • Support laboratory technicians and the engineering team with measurement-related needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure reliable results.
  • Execute tasks within established deadlines, including providing support for future projects.
  • Define appropriate inspection criteria based on best practices and product requirements.
  • Use conventional measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) when CMM is not the ideal method.
Specific Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required:
  • Proficient in CMM programming.
  • Experienced in designing and using fixturing solutions for CMM measurements.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Skilled in using conventional measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Good understanding of the PPAP process.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Position Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate's, technical, or bachelor's degree is a plus.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of CMM programming experience, specifically with Zeiss (Calypso software) and/or Mitutoyo (MCOSMOS software).

Background in machining and/or experience with automotive suppliers preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing environment.

Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

Requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, and lifting.

Must have adequate vision to validate and enter data on a computer.

Work schedule may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
