Summary
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with program management experience, capable of leading cross-functional programs and initiatives, supporting safe, reliable, and sustainable energy. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, business acumen, and communication skills to translate complex data into strategic recommendations that drive competitive advantage and procurement efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Recognized subject matter expert in regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise
- Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program
- May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Provides strategic leadership and mentorship to teams, fostering a high-performance culture and accelerating team capability development
- Solves unique and complex problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions
- Drives cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders across Procurement and in Finance, IT, Operations, and Business Units to ensure procurement initiatives align with enterprise priorities
- Develops or provides significant input to leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to influence market place and regulatory strategies impacting customers
- Facilitates strategic workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions, and executive presentations to drive alignment and decision-making
- Integrates industry knowledge related to data into everyday business practices and decision making
- Acts as a trusted advisor to procurement leadership, providing recommendations on process optimization and organizational design to support long-term efficiency gains
- Develops and executes strategies within Procurement, identifying and eliminating inefficiencies to drive process excellence
- Oversees change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of procurement process improvements, technology deployments, and strategic realignments
- Creates new and complex data models to facilitate business decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or job-related discipline
- 5+ years experience establishing strategic category strategies for Information Technology goods and services
- Proven ability to lead high-value negotiations, develop complex contract structures, and drive favorable outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging spend analytics, cost modeling, and digital procurement tools to optimize category strategies
- Competency in building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives
- Expertise in developing strategic supplier partnerships, managing performance scorecards, and fostering supplier-driven innovation
- Strong ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executives, operations leaders, and legal teams, to align procurement strategies with business priorities
- Competency in building and leading strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
- Competency in applying project management theories, concepts, methods, best practices, and techniques as needed to perform at the job level
- Knowledge of database and information systems - e.g., ARIBA, SAP, etc. -Competency in leading cross-functional teams and to drive projects of high complexity
