Job Title: Sr Business Systems Analyst

This is a long-term need that could potentially lead to a contract-to-hire arrangement. Not able to guarantee or promise.

Bottomline: The must-have skills: 1.) strong, core BSA experience within the financial services/banking arena, including documenting all pieces of the BSA role driving requirements gathering process; 2.) accounting and financial management concepts; 3.) Workday.

Notes from Call with hiring manager re: Senior BSA Contract Role:
  • Solid years of experience as a BSA.
  • At least 5 years of experience.
  • Directly working with product owner + architect.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.
  • Gathering requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
  • Will contribute to building standards + creating best practices.
  • Imbedded within a delivery team.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), encompassing accounting, financial reporting, and human resources management.
  • Matt Segvich, new to the bank and reporting to Scott Kremers, is a key stakeholder.
  • Workday is a must.
  • Accounting concepts are a must.
  • Tools include Workday for core accounting and wire transfers, as well as reconciliation software and an L&D system.
  • Integrations with other systems will be crucial.

  • Bill rate range is $85 to $90.

  • Interview process: Matt + Colton for Initial Screen 30 or so Minutes + Onsite (Product Owners + Solution Architect + Developer + Other Manager) 2 to 3 hours.
  • Submit two best candidates.
  • Ability to document the current state, create artifacts for a future state, and translate all requirements into functional specifications.
  • They are relying on this resource's understanding of IT (e.g., API interaction, mappings from one system to another, etc.).
  • System-agnostic and keen ability to extract functional requirements to build requirements with the architect.
  • Will work closely with Project Managers.
  • Tools include Visio and Lucidchart for visualization and Azure DevOps for writing stories. epics, and features.
  • Daily standups.
  • 40-hour workweek; minimal overtime.
  • Delivering in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • Ready to review and interview candidates as soon as possible.

Job Description: Understand Business Needs: Work closely with different business units to understand the Bank's strategies, processes, and roadmaps.
Gain in-depth knowledge of the context in which the business and IT operate.

Documentation: Write detailed specifications of requested system changes.
Write data specifications, release notes, user guides, and other deliverables as needed.

Design and Development: Assist with creation and refinement of design (mockup) on new functionality.
Develop and execute data mapping plans for conversions and migrations.

Software and Process Improvements: Suggest software and process improvements.
Implement and integrate COTS software solutions to support proprietary processes.

Data Analysis: Write queries to analyze business data for decision-making and ad hoc reporting.

Financial Systems: Familiarity with financial systems is a plus.

SDLC Methodology: Understand the software development process using SDLC methodologies (Waterfall/Scrum).

Project Management Tools: Familiar with automated project management and documentation tools (e.g., flowcharting, data modeling, Excel, UI design, Visio).

System Diagrams and Business Processes :Familiar with techniques and tools for modeling system diagrams, business processes, functional processes, and interfaces.

Collaboration: Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems.
Identify and resolve business systems issues.

Requirements and Goals: Work with business team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals.
Ensure applications meet business requirements and systems goals.

Project Participation: Participate in planning relevant project, enhancement, and maintenance activities.
