Job Summary


The Sr. Business Development Manager leads expansion into new accounts and markets to support the overall Millar growth strategy. Builds relationships with existing clients in an attempt to increase their current investment. They are responsible for helping Millar improve its market position and achieve financial growth.


The role is responsible for building key client relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals, maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions, increasing brand awareness, and developing and maintaining an opportunity pipeline with the key objective of transitioning clients through the Millar OEM and clinical process.


The Sr. Business Development Manager will be expected to develop strategic business development plans and plays a strategic role in shaping the direction of the company across its business units.


The role will ideally be based at Millar's state of the art facility in Pearland, TX.


Position Responsibilities


Identify & Develop New Business

  • Research and engage medical device and industrial companies to explore partnership opportunities.
  • Present Millar's capabilities via phone, video, and in-person meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to evaluate new projects and define strategies.

Lead Proposal Development & Sales Negotiation

  • Create compelling business proposals, SOW's and negotiate contracts to close deals.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff of new projects to Engineering and Operations.

Drive Strategic Sales Growth

  • Shape the overall sales strategy and help optimize business development processes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.

Represent Millar at Industry Events

  • Attend trade shows, conferences (both domestic and international), and networking events to build relationships.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives to generate leads.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and maintain long-term partnerships.
  • Track interactions using CRM tools and maintain an active sales pipeline.
  • Lead optimization and population of to achieve the highest level of data quality for Millar accounts and customers.

Business Development

  • Identify key target companies where Millar's service and capabilities have the potential to provide exceptional value.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Assess market & competitors to develop Millar's unique value propositions and competitive advantages.
  • Develop & protect Millar's brand equity in all client relationships.
  • Travel 30%-40% required.

Management

  • Directly manage the Business Development Representative/Account Executive team members.
  • Collaborate & lead multiple business initiatives cross functionally.
  • Ensure data is accurately entered & managed in Salesforce CRM.
  • Forecast Pipeline strength & development monthly.
  • Track and record sales activity on accounts/opportunities in additional to populating accounts with up-to-date call and meeting notes.
  • Align to Millar's BHAG and purpose to drive company strategy forward.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of managerial experience in a Medical Device, CDMO or Life Sciences Industry.
  • Proven track record of winning new business & leading strategic initiatives.
  • Established relationships with key decision makers in medical device industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of medical device development, manufacturing, and regulations.
  • Salesforce CRM Experience.
  • Self-motivated & results-driven in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
