Our challenge


We are looking for a highly skilled and driven Senior Big Data & GCP Cloud Engineer with over 8-10 years of professional experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in software development, particularly within the banking, investment banking, or credit card industry sectors. The role requires a deep understanding of credit card/payment industries or similar and the ability to lead and mentor a development team, while ensuring high-quality, scalable, and efficient code. Strong expertise in Python development, coupled with a strong background in financial services, is essential for success in this position.


Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Phoenix, Arizona, United States with salary $105,000-$110,000/ year & benefits.


The Role

Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement real-time and batch data pipelines on GCP using tools such as Dataflow, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Dataproc.
  • Develop robust and secure RESTful APIs and microservices using Java (Spring Boot).
  • Architect and maintain scalable cloud solutions, including infrastructure automation and containerized deployments (Kubernetes/GKE preferred).
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver data insights and backend capabilities.
  • Write clean, testable code using best practices (unit testing, integration testing, version control).
  • Optimize backend services for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging systems (Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, GCP Logging/Monitoring).
  • Continuously explore and prototype emerging GCP technologies and tools.

You are:


  • GCP Big Data Stack: BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub
  • Building scalable, automated ETL/ELT pipelines with Python, Scala, or GCP-native tools
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful service design
  • Experience with databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cloud SQL
  • Familiarity with JWT/OAuth authentication and API security standards
  • GCP services: Cloud Storage, Compute Engine, Cloud Functions
  • (Optional but preferred) Experience with Kubernetes (GKE) and container orchestration
  • CI/CD tools: Cloud Build, GitHub Actions
  • Logging & Monitoring: Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring
