Overview of the Team The Benefits Specialist is to support the organization by proactively offering solutions and cooperatively providing assistance to the HR department and fellow team members to ensure effective and compliant HR operations. In the benefits specialist role, you will provide analysis of the effectiveness for all Company benefit plans; assure their accuracy and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Assist in administration for all Company-sponsored benefits programs. Job Duties include but not limited to:
  • High level of experience in 401K and can manage critical compliance processes
  • Manage the administration of all employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other fringe benefits.
  • Determine eligibility and process enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Coordinate with external benefits providers, such as insurance carriers and retirement plan administrators.
  • Stay updated on federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Ensure benefit administration in compliance with regulatory requirements, including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc.
  • Responsible for complete and accurate 401k compliance audits.
  • Coordinate and complete 1095 submission is timely and accurate.
  • Assist with benefits reporting and filing requirements, such as Form 5500.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits-related inquiries.
  • Educate employees on available benefits options and help them understand their coverage.
  • Resolve issues related to benefits enrollment, claims, and eligibility.
  • Develop and distribute benefits-related communications to employees.
  • Conduct benefits orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Organize and conduct educational workshops or webinars on various benefit topics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefits records and files.
  • Generate reports and analyze data related to benefits utilization and costs including reconciliation of accounts.
  • Assist with benefits-related data input for payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with benefits vendors to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
