Job Description
The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team maintains all our equipment, from printers to fully automated sortation systems.
You will be responsible for the automated systems within our buildings and those interacting with them externally, including fault diagnosis, process improvements, project delivery across multiple platforms, and the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
You will be a vital part of a skilled team, focused on delivering high-quality results and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Lead and serve as the subject matter expert within an Engineering Team
- Develop code across different platforms
- Resolve complex issues involving Controls, Fieldbus, and IT Platforms
- Understand Process Flow
- Analyze metrics for process optimization
- Possess working knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems and Telegrams
- Communicate complex problems effectively across business teams
- Lead FC and Regional Controls Projects
- Advise and direct Vendor projects
- Lead or sign off on Change Management Processes
- Act as a technical reference and escalation point for FC Controls Engineers and other stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Machine Safety Regulations and Safe Working Practices
- Develop standards and processes regionally
- Collaborate with national or international engineering groups
- Identify skill gaps and deliver technical and non-technical training
- Support or develop IT systems like IP Networks, Linux, SQL Databases, and Cloud Technology
Basic Qualifications
- HND/C or BSc in Electrical or Controls Engineering
- PLC programming experience with Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, or similar
- Experience with SQL, Linux, Cloud, and IP Networking
- Ability to script in Java, Python, C, Perl, or similar
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to travel within Europe and globally
Preferred Qualifications
- M.Sc. in related engineering fields
- Knowledge of additional EU languages
