Organization Overview:


Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly's largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the Lebanon Plant 1 (LP1) leadership team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the organization, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations. The Supply Chain organization has responsibility for scheduling the manufacturing processes for Lebanon API site and supporting manufacturing with all inbound and outbound material flows. The Buyer/Planner plays a critical role within the Supply Chain organization by translating demand forecasts (commercial & development) into the master schedule (planned in monthly and weekly buckets), preparing the weekly Capacity Requirements Plan (CRP) and monthly Sales and Operations Plan (S&OP), and leveraging SAP Materials Resource Planning (MRP) to purchase materials/components to support all site production-related activities. The initial phase of the project will require extensive cross-functional work with procurement, quality, master data, and warehouse operations to deliver an operational SAP system. As the site transitions to the production phase, the Buyer/Planners are the key link for all functions in the plant and in the broader supply chain for scheduling updates and issue resolution.


As a Buyer/Planner, you will:

  • Optimize the production plans while accounting for demand, operations capacity constraints, and inventory targets
  • Prepare and present the CRP and S&OP presentations
  • Convert the production plan to a master shop floor schedule
  • Resolve capacity challenges and unplanned production issues as a member of the Process Team
  • Serving as contact for schedule-related communication in the flow team and representing Supply Chain at flow and lead team meetings as required
  • Use SAP MRP to purchase raw materials and components in support of the production schedule
  • Work with Procurement to troubleshoot vendor/supplier issues Handle orders through the fulfillment process
  • Represent the customer throughout the order process to set priorities
  • Communicate status to customers and advance issues to internal resources as-needed Establish effective internal relationships with key departments / functions
  • Work collaboratively to ensure order documentation requirements are met
  • Serve as a key member of the SAP Implementation Project Team during the greenfield site construction/startup phase
  • Support Master Data Analysts with generation of OSSCE (Operational Standards for Supply Chain) metrics/improvements and master data accuracy
  • Maintain a safe workplace through proper ergonomic practices
  • Maintain a state of compliance (learning plan, SOP adherence, etc.)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing and/or regulated industry

Additional Preferences:

  • SAP / Master Data experience in Material Master creation and maintenance
  • Strong organizational and Project Management skills
  • Strong ability to collaborate, communicate and build positive relationships
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer experiences
  • Proficient in using MRP systems, SAP software, and advanced
  • Excel functions for data analysis and reporting 4/4
