Sr Analyst

Responsible for helping improve operational performance of the airline by developing advanced analytical solutions for complex business problems using quantitative techniques and models; Build and maintain decision support models using optimization, simulation and/or statistical techniques; Statistical and machine-learning techniques and experience in applying predictive analytics to practical business problems; Assist with the flight schedule development, design and evaluation process by developing quantitative tools that address operational efficiency and robustness; Support the development and use of advanced analytics for the Integrated Operations Control (IOC) department through quantitative and qualitative analysis of business problems, model prototyping, development of recommendations, and quantification of benefits; Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the company and promote data-driven decision-making; Research current practices and industry trends, generate options for improvement, test new ideas and help the business unit with implementation; Benchmark American Airlines performance versus other airlines and industries; Interface with IT departments, related business departments, and outside vendors to ensure coordinated planning, evaluation and implementation of new decision support systems; Keep abreast of latest advances in analytic techniques and IT solutions that solve complex airline business problems.
2 years of experience as Analyst, Data Scientist, or any occupation in which the required experience was gained, and demonstrated experience in: Statistical and machine-learning techniques and experience in applying predictive analytics to practical business problems; Strong knowledge of programming and modeling languages (SAS, R, or Python); Extraction, cleansing and analysis of large datasets to identify key trends and insights using Databricks and AzureM; SQL and Excel; Data analysis and visualization tools including Tableau or Microsoft Power BI; Statistical concepts and methodologies; Statistics and forecast modeling experience; Airline industry experience.
Masters degree in Applied Statistics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
