Maximus is hiring Sr Analyst role to support the Aidvantage Program under the Department of Education portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations and the work quality, quantity and tasks of the Data Analyst and the Data Technician and provide "best practices" and data solutions to meet the data needs of the Project.
- Resolve participant issues independently and in coordination with Case Managers.
- Identify additional participant community resources and program services to meet project employment, community service and unpaid work experience placement goals.
- Develop data collection instruments; develop and utilize instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of research or operational data.
- Collect, analyze, interpret and summarize data in preparation for generation of statistical, analytical and narrative reports.
- Produce documentation to support formal process mapping, glossaries, data dictionary, non-functional requirement specifications technical design, system testing and implementation activities.
- Write SQL queries that retrieve data from systems.
- Troubleshoot issues in reports related to data.
- Create and use ad hoc queries to investigate data issues in relational source systems.
- Formulate and define systems scope and objectives.
- Assimilate, integrate and interface technical knowledge with business/systems requirements.
- Verify technical system specifications meet business requirements.
- Monitor report request queues and provide end-user support.
- Analyze current and potential systems.
- Maintain computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
- Utilize specified statistical software to analyze and interpret research data, as appropriate to the individual position.
- Maintain appropriate records of research methods and results.
- Design and/or develop specific databases for collection, tracking and reporting of research data, as appropriate to the position.
- Provide time sensitive ad hoc reports as requested by management.
- Participate in proposal writing data searches; may develop and/or present training programs in field of expertise, as needed.
- Provide a variety of professional, fiscal, administrative, and/or clerical services to department.
- Work with State personnel as needed to identify and receive needed data elements and resolve data issues.
- Lead, guide and train Data Analyst and Data Technician, other staff, interns and/or volunteers performing related work.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Program Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data for analysis.
- Leverage Hadoop clusters and SQL Server environments to process and analyze large datasets.
- Generate reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate insights and support business decisions using Tableau.
- Leverage SAS and other analytical tools to interpret data and support strategic decision-making.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports for stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
Data Quality and Troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve data quality issues across reports and data pipelines.
- Perform root cause analysis using ad hoc queries to identify anomalies in source systems.
- Perform data cleaning, validation, and transformation to maintain high standards of data integrity.
Technical Documentation and System Requirements
- Document business processes, technical designs, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
- Translate business requirements into system specifications and support testing and implementation activities.
- Define and verify systems scope and objectives to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure all documentation meets organizational standards and is accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Outbound Dialer Campaign Management
- Develop, launch, and monitor outbound dialer campaigns for debt collection, due diligence, and remediation initiatives.
- Optimize campaign performance by analyzing results and adjusting parameters such as timing, segmentation, and scripts.
- Coordinate with compliance and operations teams to ensure campaigns meet regulatory and business requirements.
- Plan, execute, and monitor outbound dialer campaigns targeting collections, due diligence, and remediation efforts.
- Use data-driven segmentation to target accounts and optimize dialer campaign effectiveness.
- Track key campaign metrics (such as contact rates and recovery rates) and analyze performance trends.
- Collaborate with compliance and operations teams to ensure campaigns adhere to regulatory requirements and business objectives.
- Refine dialing strategies based on analytical insights and feedback to improve campaign outcomes.
End-User Support and Collaboration
- Monitor report queues and respond to user inquiries and support tickets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
- Provide timely and accurate ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide technical support to end users by addressing inquiries related to data access and reporting tools.
- Troubleshoot system issues, including slow queries, and reporting tool malfunctions.
- Assist users with understanding data definitions, reports, and analytical tools through training and documentation.
- Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve technical incidents impacting data systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
- 3+ years of SAS or SQL experience required.
- Tableau experience preferred.
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.
Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
