About the Role
Lilly Small Molecule Discovery is seeking a Chemist to join our Novel Platforms Fragment-based Discovery team. This is a hands-on, lab-based role with no direct reports. This role is focused on developing internal capabilities in the area of fragment-based ligand design (FBLD).
We are looking for a Chemist with strong expertise in developing fragment hits into pre-lead candidates. In this role you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop workflows and methods to deliver a robust platform for FBLD enabling innovative therapeutic discovery.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with chemistry, biophysics, structural biology and AI/ML teams to coordinate the progression of our fragment hits, to portfolio candidates, across several protein targets.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency with molecular modeling, MD, FEP, AI-assisted design, and cheminformatics.
Additional Preferences:
Proficiency with molecular modeling, MD, FEP, AI-assisted design, and cheminformatics.
Proven ability to independently design experiments, troubleshoot challenges, and effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, documentation, and scientific presentation skills.
Passion for platform development, continuous optimization, and operational excellence with a strong emphasis on data quality and reproducibility.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$148,500 - $232,100
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
