Senior Advanced Systems Engineer
As a Senior Advanced System Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in leading and overseeing a team of highly skilled engineers in the design, development, and delivery of advanced electrical systems and solutions. You will provide technical guidance and support to team members, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure successful project execution. Your expertise in electrical engineering and leadership abilities will be essential in this role. You will report directly to our Engineering Program Manager, and you will work out of our Torrance California location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have a significant impact on the success of our electrical engineering operations. You will be responsible for managing a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to resolve complex engineering problems, and driving improvements in our engineering processes. Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive results will contribute to the successful execution of projects and the achievement of business goals. Key Responsibilities
- Review customer requirements and be able to address non-compliances through cross functional team collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute project plans
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in solving complex electrical engineering problems
- Execute electrical circuit design team project tasks
- Complete assignments by applying electrical engineering methods
- Generate Bill-Of-Materials (BOMs) for Printed Board Assemblies (PBAs)
- Leverage knowledge of circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems/failures uncovered by circuit card tests
- Prepare investigation and test results to document findings
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance electrical engineering processes and efficiency
The annual base salary range for this position is $128,000. - $160,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
- 5 to 7 years work with circuit design integration and test experience
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
WE VALUE
- Experience with MentorGraphix DxDesigner or equivalent circuit design tool set
- Experience with ANSYS Maxwell, MotorCAD, RMxprt, MATLAB, SimuLINK, Python and C (Basic level), MATLAB
- Analog circuit design experience and standard lab equipment (meters, probes, etc.)
- High-power power electronics design for inverters
- Ability to produce white papers to document investigation findings, test results, and outcomes of trade studies
- Knowledge of obsolescence parts replacement, identification of substitute parts, and making board level drawing changes
- Experience with circuit design, circuit simulation, and analysis at a level required for fault isolation and hands-on troubleshooting
- Familiarity with aircraft/aerospace test standards, such as DO-178B, DO-160, or DO-254
