The Senior Advanced Equipment Engineer will lead the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems. This role involves driving process improvements, managing cross-functional projects, and ensuring the seamless integration of new technologies to optimize efficiency, quality, and production throughput.

My client is a long-established U.S.-based manufacturer known for producing high-volume, precision-engineered metal components. With a strong presence across global markets, they specialize in complex casting technologies and support industries such as aerospace, automotive, and other advanced sectors through just-in-time and high-efficiency production methods.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explore, prototype, evaluate, and launch new technologies and methodologies to improve safety, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and throughput.
  • Drive cost savings through vertical integration and cross-plant opportunities.
  • Lead efforts to review and improve existing automation systems for enhanced safety, efficiency, and quality.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop capital justifications and guide approval processes for automation projects.
  • Work with procurement to evaluate equipment suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish performance requirements for automation.
  • Develop specifications for automated equipment and define standards and policies for project implementation.
  • Lead and implement automation across various production applications, ensuring smooth deployment and ongoing technical support.
  • Train shop floor personnel and maintenance staff on the operation and troubleshooting of automated equipment.

Profile

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the specification, development, integration, and validation of automated manufacturing systems.
  • Proficient in system communications and configuring interfaces using industry standards (e.g., OPC, XML, Modbus).
  • Hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Extensive experience with industrial equipment and automation systems.
  • Ability to think creatively and drive innovation with minimal supervision.
