Advanced Electrical Engineer West Valley City, UT Contract Position Pay Estimated: $62.58-$67.58/Hour This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.) Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains. Responsibilities: Design, test, and integrate analog circuitry and systems in support of military-grade electronics and underwater acoustic applications.
Analyze and design analog circuits including signal conditioning, power systems, transformers, inductors, and amplifiers.
Develop test plans, verification procedures, and assist in the creation of test systems for hardware validation.
Troubleshoot and verify electrical hardware to ensure compliance with performance standards.
Conduct component and architectural trade studies to determine optimal system design.
Prepare and deliver technical presentations, documentation, and interface materials for internal teams and Navy customer briefings.
Generate and maintain comprehensive design and interface documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field; Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of job-related experience, or Master's + 6 years of relevant experience.
U.S. Citizenship required by Federal Law.
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Strong working knowledge of analog circuit components and principles, including: Op-amps, Bipolar transistors, JFETs, MOSFETs.
Low-noise preamplifiers and active filter/PLL design.
Transformers and inductors-sizing, flux density, losses, temperature rise.
Proficiency with full PCB design lifecycle: SPICE and power analysis, schematic capture (OrCAD Capture preferred), signal integrity analysis, and collaboration with layout teams.
Familiarity with the engineering development lifecycle: concept, requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
Experience with analog signal integrity and noise management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred: Experience with MATLAB, electric motors, battery systems, underwater acoustic principles, and solder rework of circuit card assemblies.
