Title: Sr. Account Manager, Service Sales Defense

Key Accountabilities:
  • Oversee assigned account area and provide account management responsibilities (Lead to Order) from a total after sales support/penetration perspective by identifying opportunities, executing proposals, negotiating contracts, and maintaining a close working relationship with OEM, distributor and dealer representatives
  • Maintain account business relationships by developing and executing strategies that increases Rolls-Royce Solutions America (RRS-A) business for the long term
  • Interact with customers up to the highest management level on a regular basis, while representing RRS-A in a professional manner (ex. avoiding escalation via conflict resolution and etc.)
  • Collaborate with logistics to ensure that parts inventory levels are sufficient to provide quality sales and after sales support to RRS-A customers.
  • Collaborate with New Engine Sales team on New Vehicle Projects to quote development including specification review and interpretation and providing pricing on non-standard items (Special Application Quotes) and provide sales advice concerning bid strategies.
  • Work with business stakeholders on tracking quotes throughout the sales process until delivery.
  • Tracks and reports trends, business conditions and account status which will affect future sales revenue opportunities
  • Provide accurate data for monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting tools
  • Establish achievable but challenging short and long range goals designed to promote and increase RRS-A's market penetration in the assigned area of responsibility
  • Manage new projects and bring them to completion
  • Coordinate projects with other sales managers within Service Sales, with emphasis on Defense
  • Address customer concerns relating to current service product offerings and provide customer feedback to product development team on service product solutions for the Americas
  • Understand and keep up to date on US Government related requirements and export control legislation (ex. Buy America, Commercial vs. Military Packaging, Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FARS) and Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and etc.)
  • Prepare and present professional sales presentations to customers, management and staff
  • Maintain knowledge of MTU products, applications and policies.
  • Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct.
  • Perform special projects as required

Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business field and 5 years of experience with inside sales, customer service, parts/marketing, or management within after sales; or 9 years of experience with inside sales, customer service, parts/marketing, or management within after sales

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Previous track record in developing new business
  • Strong ability to conduct financial review and analysis
  • Strong analytical ability to quickly gather facts, draw conclusions, and develop a strategy to win new opportunities
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions
  • Strong leadership skills and ability when addressing issues that cross internal departments.
  • Strong ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals and groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work extended periods without supervision
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong strategic thinker with proven ability to think creatively
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestic & international (up to 30%)
  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of RRSA/MTU organization (products, policies & procedures)
  • Knowledge of SAP operating system
  • Knowledge of heavy duty diesel engines or comparable diesel products and policies
  • Knowledge of Government Agencies and defense contract requirements
