SQL Server Development Engineer to work out of our headquarters in Allendale, NJ.
Established in 1933, Control Associates along with its global process automation business partner, Emerson, specializes in supporting the process control equipment and service needs of the following industries: Biotech, Chemical, Food & Beverage, HVAC, Hydrocarbon Processing, Natural Gas Distribution & Transmission, Oil Refining, Pharmaceuticals, Power Generation, Pulp & Paper, and Water & Wastewater Treatment.
Responsibilities - Develop many complex SQL statements that maintain stability, reliability, and performance of databases
- Create Stored Procedures and complex functions.
- Rewrite and optimize existing SQL statements to establish best practices
- Write complex queries for applications
- Manage database standard procedures including, upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
- Work directly with SQL Server DBAs to perform certain DBA tasks
- Ensure performance, security, and availability of SQL Server databases
- Manage SQL Server Database integration with specific tools and software, including Business intelligent software and Workflow Management tools.
- Responsible for troubleshooting ordinary database issues
- Become a SQL Server expert, who continuously thinks about performance improvement and optimal usage
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Required - Bachelor's degree required, concentration in Comp Sci, Biology or Chemistry preferred.
- 2+ years' professional experience with SQL Server development required any applicable academic experience may also be considered.
- Experience writing stored triggers and procedures is required.
- Experience with SQL Server SSIS packages is highly preferred.
- Must have excellent written, verbal and electronic communications skills.
- Must have experience working within a development team
