Responsibilities Peraton will deliver a broad spectrum centralized IT infrastructure, services, and processes to include Cybersecurity Task Order (CTO) compliance activities for the USSOUTHCOM networks to include three enduring Joint Task Forces (JTFs) and multiple Security Cooperation Office(s) (SCO). Our team will provide support to continuously evolve and leverage the latest technologies and best practices to rapidly refresh capabilities and ensure platforms and intelligence operations are optimized to support the SOUTHCOM missions. Peraton will ensure that all required capabilities meeting the USSOUTHCOM's mission and those of its various mission partners, to include, but not limited to, other DoD organizations, other U.S. Federal and state government agencies, and foreign government military and non-military mission partners. As the SQL Server DBA and KeyWest Site Lead, you will provide guidance & support in the translation of Desired Functional/Technical/Operational Outcomes into actionable/deliverable requirements. Ability to work with clients, peers and management in a highly visible, mission critical environment.
Lead the local team Monitor and proactively maintain a multi-server environment consisting of SQL Server 2008/2012/2014/2016 and 2017 versions on both Windows 2012/2016 and 2019 platforms in production, staging and test environments.
Develop and implement improved processes for server maintenance, back-up and recovery, fail-over and clustering.
Meet with both internal and external teams to gather requirements for upcoming database needs, implementation of those requirements, testing and monitoring for specific functional and performance targets.
Maintain documentation for maintenance processes, server configurations (both how to configure and current configurations)
Support data calls and specific applications as needed from both the database and application server standpoint.
Evaluate, implement and maintain Microsoft technology, security updates, hot fixes, upgrades and version releases to ensure architecture stability.
Provide troubleshooting of database related issues per incident tickets.
Demonstrate ability to analyze resource bottlenecks and provide suggestions to team, management and internal customers on how to alleviate pressure and plan for capacity.
Provide recommendations and strategies to application owners on how to improve performance and scalability of their database components.
Diagnose, troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for database and SQL server related issues per monitoring tools.
Deploy change requests per the standard change management system.
Ensure database Continuity of Operations (COOP). Develop HA/DR strategies and monitor and maintain them. (Cluster, Mirroring, Always On, Replication, Log Shipping)
Develop SOPs, procedures, and website documentation as needed.
Recommend and implement new database technologies.Qualifications Required Skills and Experience Top Secret/SCI Clearance
12+ years' experience as a SQL DBA
Experience leading Personnel
Higher degree desired Target Salary Range $146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
