Database Design and Architecture:
  • Analyse business requirements to design efficient and scalable database models on SQL Server platform.
  • Implement database normalization and data partitioning strategies.
  • Design High Availability Solutions by configuring Always On Availability using Windows Failover clustering
  • Design Disaster Recovery solutions by configuring Clustering, Replication, Log-shipping and Mirroring
Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor database performance metrics and identify bottlenecks
  • Analyse and optimize SQL queries to improve execution speed
  • Implement indexing strategies to enhance query performance
  • Conduct database tuning and capacity planning
Collaboration and Leadership:
  • Work closely with application developers to understand data requirements and integrate database solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to database administrators and other stakeholders
  • Lead database migration projects to new platforms or cloud environments
Required Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of SQL Server database management system (DBMS) including T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
  • Proficient in Clustering, Replication, Log-shipping, Mirroring and Always On Availability groups
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions like Azure SQL Database
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
