Job Description
The DBA will be aligned to the group insurance vertical assisting with a migration from Genelco to Wynsure and will play a crucial in troubleshooting data base issues arising during the releases. For example, they are experiencing issues with daily loading of data across the 2 systems. Other responsibilities include:
1. Manage and monitor SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security.
2. Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime.
3. Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as index rebuilding, query optimization, and database tuning.
4. Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks.
5. Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective use of database resources.
6. Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.
7. Monitor and analyze database performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
8. Plan and execute database migration and upgrade projects.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems in a timely manner.
10. Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
50/hr to $75/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
5-10 years of experience in a SQL DBA role with proven experience managing large-scale SQL Server databases in a production environment.
Understanding of relational database management systems and their principles
Strong working knowledge of ETL processes and ability to trouble shoot issues with jobs not completing in time
Leveraging SSIS
Familiar with batch processing, multi-layer SQL queries, performance analysis on SQL processes
Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in SQL Server database administration.
Ability to work independently and effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Previous insurance experience specifically within the auto, short term disability, critical insurance, final expense, etc.
Prior DBA experience with the Wynsure or Genelco system
Cloud knowledge preferably AWS environment currently on prem but will likely be migrating to the cloud
Certification in SQL Server administration (e.g., MCSA: SQL Server or MCSE: Data Management and Analytics) is preferred null
