Job Title: SQL Database Developer
Work Location: Dallas, TX
Duration: 6 month contract with option to hire

Skills & Qualifications :
  • Database Development
    • Advanced T-SQL development (CTEs, window functions, dynamic SQL)
    • Stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
    • Transaction handling and error management
    • Query performance tuning and execution plan analysis
  • Data Integration & Reporting
    • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) - troubleshooting, creation and maintenance
    • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) - report server deployment and maintenance
    • Data migration (on-prem to cloud, flat files, Excel, APIs)
  • Service Broker
    • Design and implementation of Service Broker for asynchronous processing
  • Performance Tuning & Monitoring
    • Index analysis and optimization (fragmentation, missing indexes)
    • Use of DMVs, Query Store, and Extended Events for diagnostics
    • Deadlock detection and resolution
    • Wait stats and latch analysis
    • Experience with SQL Profiler to solve complex performance issues
    • Experience using query execution plans to gain insight into long running processes
  • High Availability & Disaster Recovery
    • Backup/restore strategies, including point-in-time recovery
    • Recovery models and log management
    • Always On Availability Groups and Failover Clustering
    • Log shipping and database mirroring
    • Disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Cloud & Hybrid Database Management
    • Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance administration
  • Infrastructure & Security
    • Windows Server and Active Directory integration
    • SQL Server roles, permissions, and data encryption
    • TempDB configuration best practices
    • PowerShell for SQL Server automation
    • Storage performance awareness (IOPs, throughput)
  • Development Tools & Practices
    • Source control
    • Familiarity with Redgate or similar tools
    • Documentation and process standardization
