Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced
SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Microsoft SQL Server database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure database performance, integrity, and security while supporting development and business operations across environments.
Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SQL Server databases in development, test, and production environments.
- Monitor database performance and proactively resolve issues related to slow queries, resource usage, or replication.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, integrity checks, and database tuning.
- Ensure data security and compliance through user access control, encryption, and auditing.
- Implement and manage high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), and replication strategies.
- Create, test, and manage T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
- Collaborate with developers to optimize queries and support application performance.
- Troubleshoot SQL Server issues, including SQL Agent jobs, log shipping, and replication errors.
- Document all configurations, procedures, and recovery plans.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support as needed.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications: - 3-5+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in SQL Server 2016 or newer (2019/2022 preferred).
- Strong command of T-SQL and experience in writing optimized queries and procedures.
- Proficiency in backup and recovery strategies (native and third-party tools).
- Knowledge of HA/DR solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, and Clustering.
- Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS), and Management Studio (SSMS).
- Experience with monitoring and performance tuning tools (e.g., SQL Profiler, DPA, Redgate).
- Solid understanding of data security principles and access management.
Preferred Qualifications: - Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSA: SQL Server.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS).
- Experience with PowerShell or automation tools.
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD processes for database code.
Work Environment: - Fast-paced, collaborative IT environment supporting mission-critical applications.
- May require occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance windows or upgrades.
- Remote, hybrid, or on-site based on organizational policy.
