POSITION DESCRIPTION Perform estimation of fire suppression sprinkler systems while accounting for planning, directing, and coordinating activities which includes costs for installation, estimating, parts/materials, design time, labor hours and/or service of fire suppression sprinkler systems. Maintain proper Risk Management and Safety procedures on all job sites per VSC policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Professionally represents the company to customers.
- Effectively communicate with others - including but not limited to: customers, vendors, design team, jobsite personnel, and management.
- Analyzes needs and product requirements to perform installation and/or service.
- Estimate projects with regard to schedule and budget the time required to meet deadlines.
- Estimate projects to assure compliance with building, safety, NFPA, State, and local codes.
- Study job specifications to determine appropriate estimation methods.
- Determine labor requirements for project estimation and costing of man hours.
- Gather PDF and AutoCAD files to provide to design team.
- Use personal computer, phone, email, copier and/or other office equipment.
- Exercise a high level of autonomy in organizing, planning, and prioritizing own work.
- Use extensive concentration, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
- Take initiative to monitor/assess own performance to make improvements and/or take corrective action.
EXPERIENCE:- 2-5 years industry experience in contract sales of sprinkler systems or 3-5 years sprinkler design/fitter experience.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Can compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to read and comprehend, project drawings, specifications and schedules.
- Use MS Office Suite - primarily Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- NICET certification preferred.
