Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to lead the migration of existing Spotfire reports and end-user computing tools (primarily Excel-based) to Power BI. This role requires a deep understanding of Spotfire development and deployment, with a strong emphasis on reverse engineering existing reports and tools to extract business logic and data transformations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent technical capabilities in PL/SQL and Python, and a proven ability to develop compelling dashboards and reports in both Spotfire and Power BI environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments of current Spotfire reports and Excel-based tools to identify data flows, logic, and functionality.
• Reverse engineer legacy reports and translate them into scalable, maintainable Power BI dashboards.
• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements, understand reporting objectives, and ensure successful outcomes.
• Write and optimize PL/SQL and Python scripts for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Design, build, and deploy reports and interactive dashboards in Power BI using advanced features such as DAX expressions and M Queries.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance optimization in all developed reports and visualizations.
• Provide documentation and knowledge transfer to technical and non-technical users as needed.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience with TIBCO Spotfire development and deployment, including use of IronPython scripting, HTML, and CSS for customization.
• In-depth knowledge of Spotfire's data models and ability to work with complex, multi-source datasets.
• Proficiency in Power BI report development, including use of DAX and Power Query (M language).
• Strong programming skills in PL/SQL and Python, particularly for analytical and ETL purposes.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and translate complex data into actionable business insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with data migration or BI platform transitions is a strong plus.
• Experience working in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise BI governance practices.
• Knowledge of additional visualization tools is a plus (e.g., Tableau, Qlik).
