Job Description/ Responsibilities
Job Title: Splunk Admin with GCP Expertise
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Splunk Administration: Manage and maintain our Splunk environment, ensuring high availability and performance. This includes installing, configuring, and managing Splunk components such as forwarders, indexers, and search heads.
2. Data Integration: Integrate various data sources into Splunk, including logs, metrics, and events from different platforms and applications. Ensure data is accurately and efficiently ingested, indexed, and searchable.
3. GCP Expertise: Utilize your deep understanding of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to integrate and manage GCP services within Splunk. This includes monitoring and analyzing data from GCP services, managing GCP infrastructure, and optimizing cloud resources.
4. Monitoring and Alerting: Develop and implement monitoring and alerting solutions using Splunk to proactively identify and resolve issues. Create dashboards, reports, and alerts to provide visibility into system performance and security.
5. Security and Compliance: Ensure that the Splunk environment adheres to security best practices and compliance requirements. Implement and manage security controls, access policies, and data encryption.
6. Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Splunk-related issues. Work closely with other teams to resolve incidents and improve system reliability.
7. Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts to streamline Splunk administration tasks and improve efficiency. Utilize scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
8. Documentation and Training: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Splunk configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to other team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Splunk Admin, with a strong understanding of Splunk architecture and components.
- In-depth knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and their integration with Splunk.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Admin, Google Cloud Professional) are a plus.
