Job Summary: Responsible for providing speech, language, and dysphagia services to patients, including evaluations, care planning, and treatment.
Essential Functions:
Utilizes an outward mindset to achieve goals while assisting others. Conducts patient evaluations and administers treatments for speech and swallowing disorders. Designs and revises care plans and goals. Provides reports to physicians and completes documentation per standards. Participates in education programs and stays updated on trends. Engages in patient care committees and staff meetings. Minimum Qualifications: Master s degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Clinical Fellow status or Certificate of Clinical Competence, and Michigan licensure eligibility. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience with all age groups and ventilator-dependent patients preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and evaluative skills required. Knowledgeable in communicative disorders and able to work in an interdisciplinary team.
Working Conditions: Exposure to infectious diseases and radiation in a controlled setting; may work in unpredictable home environments.
Physical Requirements: Constant standing, walking, and visual acuity; frequent sitting and lifting; occasional heavy lifting.
