Speech Pathologist

Education Required: Master's Degree in Speech Pathology/Communicative Disorders and Sciences Experience Preferred: Prior one year hospital/health care related experience Skills Good clinical expertise, human relations skills and organizational skills required. Self-motivated individual who can work independently with little direct supervision required Has demonstrated interest in professional growth by attendance at continuing education workshops, and applications of new principles and/or techniques. Must have good communication skills and a positive attitude Licensure/Certification/Registration Required: License of Speech Therapy active in the state of Missouri, CCC or CFY candidate AND BLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire Position Competencies: Competencies are essential skills needed to be successful in a position. Performs a detailed and complete evaluation including history/subjective, objective measures, special tests, impairment list, assessment, functional goals, and an appropriate plan of care. Demonstrates quality and timely documentation that supports the necessity of skilled service and accuracy of billing. Performs ongoing reassessment of patient response to treatment and modifies plan of care, goals, and/or treatment approach to achieve the desired outcome. Effectively evaluates and treats a full variety of patient diagnoses encountered within scope of practice environment. Employee meets established productivity standard for department / position. Works to achieve an exceptional patient experience by demonstrating adaptability with patient interaction and treatment approach with considerations for the patient's age, cognitive and psychosocial status, physical condition, and level of motivation.
