Job Description:
Cell Staff is seeking, on behalf of Wake County Schools, a dedicatedSpeech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)to join the team supporting the communication development of high school students. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLPA will help implement individualized speech and language services designed to support student success in academic and social settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services as specified in students& Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under licensed SLP supervision.
- Prepare therapy materials and assist with data collection during sessions.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records per district and state guidelines.
- Assist with speech/language screenings and informal assessments.
- Support generalization of communication strategies across school environments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students& communication needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions as required.
- Follow all Wake County Public Schools policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible forpermanent registration with the North Carolina Board of Examiners (NC BOE)for SLP-Assistants.
- (Candidates are responsible for verifying their eligibility directly with the NC BOE before applying.)
- Preferred: Experience working in school settings.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Google Drive and Microsoft Office applications.
Contractor Assignment Details:
- Placements may include:
- Open SLP-A positions
- Medical or maternity leave coverage
- Support for high caseloads
- Final placement determined after background checks and contract execution.
- Assignments may shift throughout the year based on district needs, but contract hours will be maintained.
