Overview:
Provides diagnostic and therapeutic services, patient/family counseling, and appropriate referrals as necessary to all inpatients and outpatients exhibiting a speech, language, cognitive or swallowing disorder.
Responsibilities:
Effectively evaluates the patient's performance in any communicative disorders.
Develops appropriate therapeutic plan based on patient assessment and physician's orders.
Observes patient progress and updates plan as indicated.
Provides therapy for all types of speech language, cogintive and swallowing disorders.
Coordinates care plan with other healthcare providers.
Provides education to the patient/family regarding impairments and planned treatment/intervention.
Evaluates the patient's progress, goal attainment and need for further services following discharge.
Documents results of diagnostic evaluations, care plan and progress in medical record.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in speech pathology required
Minimum one year or experience in rehabilitation with adult speech/language-impaired populations preferred
CCC-SLP Speech Pathology license required New Jersey
Strong customer service skills
