TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, long-term basis in the Tunbridge area. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who have a range of physical disabilities, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. As a specialist Teaching Assistant, you ll be supporting individual students or small groups, helping to deliver tailored learning plans and providing essential care when needed.
The successful Specialist Teaching Assistant will have/be able to:
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with physical disabilities (education or care setting)
- Relevant qualifications in education, care, or support (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, health and social care)
- Knowledge of hoisting, manual handling, and/or intimate care (training can be provided)
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and physiotherapy programs where required
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and SENCOs to ensure a supportive learning environment
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom experience
