As our new Scrum Master, you will operate at the heart of our global, fast-moving company. By facilitating, coaching, and solving impediments, you ensure AD Group Enterprise Platforms has the processes and structures in place to continue our high-level performance.

As a Scrum Master, you will be joining our Tech department. Our dedicated Tech teams drive the development, maintenance, and enhancement of our technology platforms and applications. We are responsible for ensuring the efficient management of payroll platform for over 400,000 associates, making sure that our HR functions is delivering pay slips promptly and accurately. Our team excels in prioritizing tasks and addressing critical issues swiftly, ensuring the seamless functioning of our vital services.

Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

Facilitator, Coach & Impediment Solver:
  • Ensure that all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives) are organized, time-boxed, and run effectively, promoting team collaboration and communication.
  • Guide the team in understanding and applying Scrum practices, principles, and values, helping them to self-organize and improve their performance and efficiency over time.
  • Promote an Agile Way of Working & mindset for various stakeholders.
  • Identify technical problems and guide teams towards solutions.
  • Help teams on their journey to becoming high performing.
Tracking and Reporting Progress: Monitor and report on key metrics like velocity, burndown charts, and sprint goals, providing transparency on the team's progress and challenges.

Technical Improvements and Innovations:
  • Identify and lead technical improvements.
  • Be involved in processes such as code reviews, deployments, and coding.
  • Optimize and improve these processes.
Building High-Performing Teams:
  • Coach and advise teams using your technical and people knowledge.
  • Act as a triage for issues and questions before they are assigned to DevOps Engineers.
  • Ensure DevOps engineers can focus on developing and managing software.
Change Agent:
  • Enable teams to continuously grow.
  • Create an engineering-focused culture.
  • Act autonomously, identify opportunities and challenges, develop an action plan, and execute it.
Value Stream Management/Business Value:
  • Coach and guide teams to create business & customer value.
  • Ensure good collaboration between teams, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Guide short cycle planning, ensuring dependencies and risks are well mapped out.
DevOps:
  • Help teams take ownership of the product.
  • Ensure data flow is used to set priorities and make the right decisions.
  • Arrange support with the team for the availability and performance of the product or service.
  • Set up a good DevOps flow whereas many processes as possible are automated.
Handling Payroll-Critical Incidents & Urgent Fixes
  • Ensure high-priority bugs (e.g., miscalculations in salaries, incorrect tax deductions) are addressed within sprint cycles or as urgent fixes.
  • Facilitate communication between IT teams, HR, and other parties as IAM & Integration to resolve payroll disruptions quickly.
  • Organize retrospectives for payroll failures to prevent similar issues in the future.
Managing Payroll-Specific Peak Periods
  • Adapt sprint planning to account for high-demand periods, such as year-end tax reporting, merit increases, and annual bonus processing.
  • Coordinate load-testing activities to ensure payroll systems can handle peak transaction volumes.
  • Ensure that technical debt and infrastructure improvements are prioritized to avoid payroll system slowdowns.
Driving Continuous Improvement in Payroll IT Agile Practices
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks in payroll-related Agile processes, such as dependencies between HR and IT teams.
  • Advocate for automation of payroll testing, deployments, and data validation.
  • Foster a culture of Agile maturity while balancing the stability payroll systems require.

Requirements

We think you'll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Economics, or a comparable study
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in Agile portfolio management
  • Knowledge and experience with agile frameworks such as SAFe, Scrum, XP, and product- and project portfolio management
  • Extensive knowledge of processes, methods, structures, and cultures within business and IT/Technology organizations
  • Expert knowledge regarding IT governance and (project) portfolio management
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written)
