Job Purpose

Manage & perform the process of in-depth assessment of the financial position and performance of the customers based on their financials to support credit appraisal / review including Equity Valuations / Investment Lending.

Corporate Governance and Compliance: Work fully within risk policies and procedures and compliance regulations and ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance & regulatory/legal frameworks.

Specific Accountabilities

Generic Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Governance and Compliance: Work fully within risk policies and procedures and compliance regulations and ensure all divisional activities comply with corporate governance & regulatory/legal frameworks.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Interpret and analyze financials supported by spreadsheets and other gathered information to produce effective reports supporting informed decision-making.
  • Credit applications: Prepare credit application processes by providing financial analysis reports conforming to CBK standards.
  • Credit committee: Support the credit review process by providing credit committees with adequate information on the reported financials of the customers.
  • Information gathering & Processing: Manage information gathering and effective processing within the unit to support quality analysis. Engage with business units for clarifications/ additional details on financials.
  • Credit expertise: Provide expertise in financial review and ensure independent opinion on customers based on their financials.
  • Information Gathering & Processing: Drive information gathering and effective processing within the unit to support quality analysis. Foster effective liaison with business units for clarifications/ additional details.
  • Credit Analysis: Support the unit to ensure analysis of financials and submission of reports in line with PBD standards.
  • Monitoring: Continuously monitor and review granted credit facilities to ensure thresholds are not breached.
Job Success Factors Education

Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Certification/Experience

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of banking sector experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis using associated tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • CFA or minimum CFA Level 1&2. FRM or CCM or ACCM is recommended.
  • Extensive experience in financial analysis and handling financials.
  • Proficient interpretation of financials.
  • Effective financial analysis and assessments to support lending decisions.
  • High-quality submissions to credit committees.
  • High-quality advice and expertise across PBD.
  • Consistent, high-quality service and support.
  • Stay updated on industry news, key trends, and macroeconomic developments.
  • Maintain & update credit files and follow-up on approved facilities to ensure risk thresholds are met.
Skills
  • Understanding of corporate banking products and credit.
  • Expertise in accounting policies, standards, and financial analysis tools & techniques.
  • Effective writing and communication skills.
