HYBRID ELIGIBILITY This position works a hybrid schedule, spending time remotely and in the office in Minot, ND. The current hybrid schedule provides flexibility to collaborate in the office Tuesdays through Thursdays and work from home Mondays and Fridays. With our 9/80 feature you get time off every other Friday when you work at least 80 hours over the preceding nine days.
POSITION SUMMARY The Project Cost and Schedule Controller will be responsible for managing the financial and schedule-related aspects of multiple projects within a portfolio, ensuring accuracy in cost controls, schedule updates, and alignment with financial deliverables. The successful candidate will support project managers in key activities, provide monthly cost reports, and work closely with finance to complete month-end reconciliations.
Location: The role will be based in either Minot, North Dakota, or Houston, Texas, with infrequent travel to Minot as required for project oversight and working with the Project Managers.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Cost Management: Oversee cost control processes for assigned projects, ensuring adherence to budget and forecasting accuracy. Generate monthly cost reports detailing expenditures, cost projections, and budget variances.
- Schedule Updates : Manage and update project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring all timelines align with project milestones and deliverables. Provide regular schedule updates to stakeholders and project managers.
- Financial Reconciliation and Reporting : Perform month-end reconciliations and deliver financial data to the finance team. Ensure data accuracy and completion of finance deliverables.
- Change Order Management : Manage change orders from initiation to approval, working with relevant teams for cost impact analysis and documentation. Ensure COs are accurately recorded and approved in SAP.
- Purchase Requisitions : Create and manage purchase requisitions within SAP, overseeing procurement requirements for each project phase.
- Risk Analysis : Conduct risk assessments using Crystal Ball, applying insights to cost and schedule forecasts to mitigate project risks.
- Collaboration and Support : Work closely with project managers, supporting project management activities and providing insights for PM reporting. Maintain strong collaboration with finance, project teams, and the larger program portfolio to ensure goals are met.
- Data Integration and Reporting : Leverage SAP, Excel, and Procore to consolidate cost, schedule, and risk data for project reporting. Provide program-level details to report portals for transparency across the portfolio.
QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in SAP for cost tracking, requisition creation, and reconciliation activities
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Experience with Primavera P6 for schedule management and updates
- Proficiency in Procore for project documentation and cost tracking
- Familiarity with risk analysis tools, such as Crystal Ball (preferred, not required)
- Strong understanding of project management principles, ability to assist PMs in project control tasks
Work Schedule: The role is a hybrid work model:
- Remote Work : Mondays and Fridays, allowing for flexibility and focus on analytical and reporting tasks from home.
- In-Office Presence : Tuesdays through Thursdays, providing dedicated time for in-person work with project teams, finance, and stakeholders.
