Job Title: Linux System Administrator Job Code: 20494 Job Location: Colorado Springs, CO Job Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: As a Linux System Administrator, you'll be responsible for defining system specifications, ensuring hardware/software compatibility and system security. You'll coordinate the design of subsystems and integrate them into the overall system, identifying and resolving program support deficiencies along the way. Your work will involve developing and documenting frameworks for integrating and implementing changes to technical standards, as well as recommending corrective actions and providing technical guidance to systems engineers, software engineers, and other team members. You'll lead detailed technical discussions, guide the evaluation and selection of solutions, and organize teams for project work. Additionally, you'll manage the internal administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level. This includes building, configuring, troubleshooting, and integrating new and existing servers to enhance services, deploy applications, and upgrade infrastructure. You'll set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system-wide software, and allocate mass storage space. Experience working in a DevOps environment, with proficiency in automated workflow tools, and a strong understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
Experience in VM life-cycle management (snapshots)
Configure, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot VMWare and/or other virtualization technologies
System configuration experience with Enterprise Identity Management tools (LDAP, IPA, Active Directory, etc.)
Experience implementing Linux patches identified by vulnerability scanning, remediating those findings, and validating patches through vulnerability scanning
Support efforts to field changes and patches to production systems while meeting schedule timelines
Address and detect issues impacting projects and implement/develop courses of action (COAs) to mitigate or alleviate the impact
Expertise with VMware vCenter Server or VMware certifications.
Provide architecture-level oversight for multiple projects
Collaborate with lead engineers to ensure engineering designs are sound and fit overall architectural concepts
Implement/maintain strong system architectures, including physical and virtual environments
Ensure project schedules are met and identify any constraints/concerns
Support/facilitate customer meetings and ensure compliance with project requirements and overall architectural design

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
