The goal of Plan Administration & Implementation (PAI) is to meet the needs of Retirement Plan Services by providing the best client service possible as it relates to the recordkeeping aspects of Defined Contribution Retirement Plans. Specifically, a Specialist within PAI for the Fee Team is responsible for accurately executing high volume processing of multiple recordkeeping request Types, as well as researching historical activity. In addition, we are expected to manage relationships with internal business partners while ensuring absolute compliance with all regulations and requirements of ERISA Law.

What You'll Do

The Specialist is expected to manage Recordkeeping Fee processing volumes while understanding the many different operational processes within the group. Position responsibilities include responding to internal partner inquiries, maintaining quality control and procedures, creating process improvements, mitigating risk, streamlining workflows, audit fulfillment, and accurately handling Fee Volumes to meet key deliverables and exceed client expectations.

What you are good at
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications, specifically Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Access
  • Flexibility and extreme attention to detail, initiative in researching tasks, entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to meet multiple competing deadlines is vital to success in this position.
  • Understanding current process infrastructure and looking for ways to improve, automate, and create efficiencies
  • Acting as a liaison between business users and technology groups
  • Learning and piloting software updates and new software implementation to serve as a subject matter expert to business users
  • Supporting department processes such Fee Processing, Fee Reporting, Fee Disclosures, Fee Audits, and Fee Automation
  • Participating in other centralized projects or initiatives, as needed
What you have
  • 2 or more years in the qualified retirement plan industry, preferably with a general understanding of Recordkeeping Fees and Fee Disclosures
  • Desire to make a significant contribution to the growth of Schwab's Recordkeeping Fee Team
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, high comfort level with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Project Management experience including the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while prioritizing workload based upon risk/business needs
  • Ability to work independently or under minimal direction
  • Effective critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail while keeping a holistic approach
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the appropriate sense of urgency to meet stringent deadlines
  • Experience communicating effectively to business partners and leadership
  • Aptitude to help determine departmental objectives and action plans
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • ASPPA QKA, QKC, QPA or CPC Designation preferred but not required
  • Experience with SRI or other Recordkeeping software
