Description

Responsible for tracking a variety of technology software assets and inventories across multiple environments, including data centers, the cloud, and sites within the Dallas ISD district. This role will focus on maintaining and tracking software assets using the asset management (TipWeb) system, ensuring that all inventories are accurately updated and reported. This position will collaborate with various levels of management to facilitate software tracking, license assignment and quantities, and annual renewal management but will not hold any direct managerial responsibilities. This position is critical to maintaining the integrity of District software assets across different platforms.
  • Track District software assets across data centers, the cloud, and sites within district facilities using TipWeb, ensuring all inventories are accurately and up to date.
  • Monitor asset renewals and contracts, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and non-renewal / transition of technology software assets.
  • Perform annual audits of software licensing and inventories to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • Collaborate with different departments and interact with all levels of management to coordinate software purchases, transfers, updates, additions, and reporting.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of discrepancies identified during audits and in addressing asset-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the development and implementation of asset-tracking processes and improvements within the TipWeb system to ensure continuous accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with District asset management policies and procedures across all environments.
  • Provide monthly reports on the status of software licenses, including existing quantities, upcoming needs, maintenance updates, and discrepancies.
  • Assist in year end business projects and serve as backup to other team members.
All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

Qualifications
  • Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. Equivalency); Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of direct experience. Minimum 3 years' experience in software asset management, inventory management, or a related field. Preferred qualifications: Experience with cloudbased asset management, familiarity with software tracking and technology environments, including data centers and cloud infrastructure, and audit processes and internal controls related to technology asset management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with technology asset management tools or platforms (TipWeb or similar platforms preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records of software assets.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize projects, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively interact with team members and all levels of management.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address discrepancies and issues with asset records.
