As a DevOps Engineer, you will be joining our Tech department. Our Tech department is the driving force behind the technology in our organization. Powered by our innovative strategies, our Tech teams ensure we're fully aligned to develop, maintain, and improve our technology platforms and applications. We are responsible for ensuring the efficient management of payroll platform for over 400,000 associates, making sure that our HR functions is delivering pay slips promptly and accurately. Our team excels in prioritizing tasks and addressing critical issues swiftly, ensuring the seamless functioning of our vital services.

Key responsibilities of your role

Your role is highly diverse and encompasses various responsibilities. Here are the key ones:

Application Configuration and Development:
•  Write programs in software code according to functional and non-functional criteria and quality standards.
•  Configure systems in production environments.
•  Develop and maintain ABAP code for SAP ECP enhancements, custom reports, interfaces, and data transfers as needed to meet business requirements.
•  Work with the HR -Product organization team to ensure that ABAP developments align with business processes and meet functional specifications.
•  Report progress and issues to the Head of Tech and Scrum Master.
•  Define solutions for technical IT bottlenecks for new and existing technical (software) systems.
•  Perform quality checks on code and review recurring incidents.
•  Install and test applications.
•  Ensure all delivered products comply with information security, data privacy, license compliance, and audit compliance & control guidelines. Application Design:
•  Design, maintain, and improve software solutions as part of application lifecycle management.
•  Translate business criteria and customer needs into technical products in close collaboration with the Head of Techs.
•  Describe technical solutions for user stories or complex systems that meet customer needs and ensure good manageability of the system.
•  Translate user stories into specific tasks (features) and plan actions based on the chosen technical solution.
•  Support the product team/Head of Tech during the design phase. Continuous Optimization and Improvement:
•  Define possible improvements.
•  Plan and execute improvement actions.
•  Perform checks after implementing improvements to verify if the objectives have been achieved. Designing and Executing Test Scripts:
•  Ensure user stories are technically ready for testing during sprint planning.
•  Create and write test scripts based on each user story.
•  Identify risks together with the scrum team and the customer.
•  Evaluate test scripts with the scrum team and prioritize the tests to be executed.
•  Prepare test data.
•  Test the technology/software of the product according to the designed test scripts.
•  Analyze test results compared to expected results.
•  Evaluate results with the scrum team and determine deviations.
•  Define actions for product adjustments and monitor implementation.
•  Retest the product. Operations:
•  Perform availability, performance, and capacity measurements to determine if the system still meets customer requirements and, if necessary, add improvements to the backlog.
•  Analyze incidents and user requests to determine if improvements are necessary and add them to the backlog.
•  Determine the cause of incidents, how they can be resolved through a workaround or a permanent solution, and create this solution, if necessary, based on a 24/7 on-call schedule.
•  Provide the support organization with knowledge, documentation, configuration, and support characteristics.
•  Document recurring incidents so they can be resolved by the Helpdesk.
•  Prepare and install software according to applicable agreements and then validate that the system functions successfully.
•  Maintain configuration data. Performance Tuning and Optimization:
•  Perform regular performance tuning and optimization of SAP ECP, including database queries, system configuration, and network connectivity to ensure maximum efficiency.
•  Implement scalability strategies to handle growing payroll data and transactional volume. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
•  Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for SAP ECP system configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting steps.
•  Share knowledge and train team members on best practices, tools, and techniques for managing and supporting SAP ECP systems. Collaboration with SAP Basis and Functional Teams - product owner organization:
•  Collaborate with SAP Basis teams to ensure smooth system operations, including managing the SAP landscape, troubleshooting system issues, and performing system refreshes or upgrades.
•  Work with SAP Functional teams - Product owner organization to align business requirements with system capabilities and ensure optimal system performance. Partner and Vendor Collaboration:
•  Work closely with external partners and third-party vendors to ensure successful integration and implementation of SAP ECP solutions. This includes coordinating with them on system configurations, customizations, and enhancements.
•  Oversee the work of external partners, ensuring that their developments are compliant with company standards and are aligned with the overall system design, architecture, and business requirements.
•  Review and validate any deliverables from partners, ensuring that code, configurations, and system implementations are of high quality and properly tested before deployment What's in it for you?

Requirements

We think you'll be best geared for success if you meet the following requirements:
•  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, ensuring a strong foundational understanding of software engineering and systems.
•  5-7 years of relevant experience in DevOps, with a focus on automating, deploying, and managing applications in a cloud environment. Experience should include working on large-scale, high-availability systems, and preferably in the payroll or rewards systems domain.
