Leidos is seeking a talented Special Projects and Integrated Engineering Lead to execute the strategy to move our Corporate and Mission Engineering organizations into comprehensive Integrated Engineering Team and a lead a diverse group of engineers to create unique solutions for complex problems following the best practices and processes from our EENG.
The candidate will be part of a diverse team focused on providing project engineering and support for a wide variety of applications in the NASA IT Division. Candidate will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, productively contribute to and lead team environments, and communicate effectively to customers, management, employees, and coworkers. The individual must also be self-motivated and highly organized with a focus on managing customer expectations with a constant goal of generating high quality products that exceed customer expectations. Demonstrated ability to lead teammates and personnel is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide senior technical leadership for a talented group of project engineers in the development of application of system and solution engineering to IT projects
Mentor and guide project engineers for improved understanding of Leidos engineering process application and career development
Foster the implementation of creative solutions to in the execution of project engineering for high reliability solutions
Coordinate project engineering across multiple contract organizations
Provide strategic staff planning inputs to St. Director of Network Services
Play a key role in proposal and business development opportunities as appropriate for new project requests
Collaborate with NASA leadership, providing regular updates, recommendations, and insights to align engineering solutions with organizational goals.
Contribute to designing, implementing, and optimizing communication and networking systems to enhance reliability and performance.
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in networking and communications to maintain system excellence.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of fifteen (15) years of direct engineering experience, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and ten (10) years of direct engineering experience
In-depth understanding of project engineering & project management with at least 5 years of experience with project engineering, preferably on hardware systems development programs
Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience with formal line management responsibilities to include employee tasking, time charging oversight, performance assessment, and performance recognition.
Candidate must have strong leadership credentials, good communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong technical background
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or be willing to relocate
US Citizenship required
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP technology including IP addressing, subnet masking.
Experience with network tools: e.g. Spectrum, SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, INFOBLOX
Working knowledge of all tools in the Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Strong knowledge of telephony systems and communications infrastructure.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with NASA leadership and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to train and mentor personnel in engineering domain.
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualification:
Project management qualification (PMP) or equivalent
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a group and independently
Demonstrated ability to lead a team through change
Experience effectively communicating within a team environment and have experience mentoring & guiding team members
Desire and commitment to improve capabilities of their team
Experience with supply chain management and ability to work with suppliers to help them meet both hardware and non-hardware deliverable requirements, is preferred.
Experience in a government or aerospace environment, particularly with NASA systems
Familiarity with operational support procedures for high-stakes mission environments

Pay Range: Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
