Role DescriptionSpecial Orders PICs oversee team members, coordinate activities and uphold standards for the Front-End department. This role includes ensuring a high level of productivity and customer service and supervising front end members. Coordinates and tracks the maintenance of equipment used, including delivery trucks, to uphold safety and operational standards. Supervises team members within the Special Orders Department, providing leadership and guidance to ensure the department's success.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Confers with customers to solicit sales of product to businesses in the area.
- Utilizes fax and e-mail to receive customer orders and engages in effective communication with customers, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Pulls, rings, and palletizes orders to be delivered, adhering to quality standards in the picking and packing process.
- Packages orders meticulously for safe and secure transport to the delivery site
- Maintains customer payment methods and applicable tax-exempt information for accurate charges to customer accounts or receipt of payments in other forms.
- Maintains a comprehensive maintenance log for delivery trucks, ensuring timely and proper maintenance is performed to guarantee operational excellence.
- Coordinates orders with relevant departments for out-of-the-ordinary quantities or unique product selections, fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
- Projects sales and schedules labor within the Special Orders Department to comply with established and/or directed standards and goals.
- Drives personal vehicle to purchase supplies and product to fill orders and to make sales calls as necessary.
- Assists with front-end duties as needed, contributing to overall store operations.
- Provides support in other store departments as required.
- Performs additional functions as necessary or assigned.
Experience/Education:- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Drivers License required.

Working EnvironmentWork is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often. Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment. Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 50 pounds at waist/chest and occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds above shoulders.
