Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
As a Special Needs Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities, and social-emotional challenges. Working closely with teachers and the SEN team, you'll help ensure every child receives the individualised support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional needs
Assist in the planning and delivery of personalised learning strategies
Help manage behaviour in a calm, consistent, and supportive way
Promote inclusion and encourage independence and confidence
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals
Requirements:
Must have the right to work in the UK
Must be available full-time, Monday to Friday
Must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
Experience working with children with special educational needs (in school or care settings)
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. CACHE, Team Teach) are desirable but not essential
